First up is the song “Justified” by one of my favorite bands, A Day To Remember. This song is a great reminder for all of us to stop being judgemental of other people. Especially those with a different set of beliefs than ours. If your set of beliefs or religion has you looking down at other people who believe differently, then there's something wrong there.

Just as an example, Jesus said, “Love your neighbors as yourself.” Note that He didn't say to love them only if they believe what you believe. He said to love them as you love yourself.

Anyway, I don't want to sound like I'm preaching in this music log. Here are some of the song's lyrics. This is a great rock song from start to finish.

Second song for today is “In Between” by Beartooth. This is a good, hard rock, anthemic and uplifting track. It delivers a great message to listeners.

My favorite part of this song is the bridge. They captured this moment really well in the music video. You can see that the vocalist has given up and starts drowning. But help is on the way and what a relief that is to see.

Everyone battles their own demons in life. Whether that be addiction, anxiety, depression, sickness, whatever it may be, keep on fighting! Don't let suicide be your only way out. Find other people in the same predicament as you. Find other people who can pull you out of the darkness that you're in. And if all that fails, look up. Help is there, when you need it. Just don't give up.

First up is “Mirrors” by Our Last Night. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the band Our Last Night makes some of the best rock covers I've heard. This is no exception. This a great rock cover of Justin Timberlake's hit song “Mirrors”.

Second and last song for today is this really good rock cover of Adele's “Set Fire To The Rain”, by the band SYCAMOUR. This cover sounds so polished and clean. There's some minor screaming towards the end, but not enough to detract from the joy of listening to this cover.

Second song for today is “Waking Up” by the band In Stereo. Really good punk-rock, pop-punk track. It's surprising that it doesn't seem to be as popular as I think it should be. Couldn't find any official music video on Youtube for this one. The video on this post comes from a fan who uploaded a copy of the song, because they couldn't find an official one either. Anyway, like I said, a really good track worth listening to.

The first song for today is a rather unpopular song by My Chemical Romance. Unpopular in the sense that, I don't think it is one of their hits. I just happened to come across it as a song recommendation. Whether it was from Pandora or Spotify, I don't remember anymore. But the important bit, is that this song rocks! So here is “Ambulance” by My Chemical Romance.

Second song for today is “Wonderful” by Everclear. This is an older song from the early 2000s. I distinctly remember seeing the music video on MTV. I love how this song slowly builds up to a wonderful ending. Unfortunately, the lyrics actually speak of a sad story, but that's what makes this song really good.

It all started with this track, “What It Is to Burn?” This song was my first introduction to “Screamo” back in the early 2000s. I've heard of other emo, post-hardcore bands back then, but no one combined screaming with beautiful melodies like the band Finch did. When I first heard the song, I was amazed that a band could make a song sound so good even when it featured some all-out screaming vocals. It sounded insane and blissful at the same time.

Finch was one of those bands that got me through a tough time in college. Their music was basically the soundtrack of my life then and it served to form the basis of my musical tastes going forward. While I'm still very much into pop-rock and pop-punk, I would never be listening to post-hardcore and metalcore bands nowadays if it wasn't for Finch.

Second song for today is “Perfection Through Silence”. This is another good rock song from Finch. This song is so simple and yet it's still so good. The chords are simple. The lyrics are short and simple. Yet when I play this song on the guitar, I find myself singing the chorus over and over.

Last song for today is “Letters to You”. This is my favorite Finch track because this one, I can sing to my wife. This song is so good, that even Coney, my wife, who is not really a fan of hard rock music, sings it every time she listens to it. This song also came in handy during the times that we were in a long-distance relationship. That's because the lyrics on this song are beautiful and perfect for couples spending time apart.
