Music Log - 032 | Music from The Piano Guys

<![CDATA[Looks like it's been over a month since I wrote a music log entry. And since it's Friday, here's a new one. Today's music log will once again feature piano/cello covers by The Piano Guys. I love listening to their covers. They're always great re-arrangements of popular hits. They make them sound like their own. And they make them sound beautiful. I credit them for my recent appreciation of classical musical instruments, like the piano and cello. That or I'm just getting old. Probably a bit of both. 😄

Anyway, first one for today is a cover of "Just The Way You Are", originally by Bruno Mars. I love that they simply didn't follow along with the original melody and tune. Instead, they took inspiration from the original song and re-arranged it to where it sounds like at times, an original piece. Beautiful cover of the original.

div class="video-container"iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/rIBRcQdzWQs" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen/iframe/div

!--more--
hr class="sb"/
Next one is a cover of the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit OST. This is an outstanding cover. More so if you consider that they only used a piano and cello for this cover. I'm a fan of the LoTR and a fan of the movies. This cover filled me with so much frisson while listening to it. They made it sound as epic as the original soundtrack. I could close my eyes while listening to this and feel like I'm in Middle-earth. Amazing job on this cover.

div class="video-container"iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/FZNqs0YgWkM" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen/iframe/div

hr class="sb"/
Last one for today is a cover of "Epiphany", originally by BTS. If you haven't heard of BTS, then you probably don't have any teenagers around. My sisters love them. BTS is a very popular South Korean boy-band. As usual, this is a very good piano/cello cover of the original.

I was so into this cover that I couldn't stop myself from trying to at least figure out the main chords. Here they are:
F - Dm - B♭ - C

div class="video-container"iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/ts0Ir2hXXaw" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen/iframe/div

And that's it for today. Happy Friday and y'all have a good weekend!

hr class="sb"/
This post is Day 28 of my #100DaysToOffload challenge.
Music Log - 029 | Music from The Piano Guys

<![CDATA[Another Friday, another music log. I have two songs today from The Piano Guys. Let's get started.

First one is this beautiful, beautiful piano cover of Ed Sheeran's "Perfect". It's so good I can listen to it all day. Just like the song title, it is perfect.

div class="video-container"iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/KLeiK0whCdY" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen/iframe/div

!--more--
hr class="sb"/
Second one is this beautiful fusion of One Republic's "Secrets" and Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5". When I first heard it, I was blown away. It is a beautiful melding of classical and modern music. I think Ludwig van Beethoven would approve of this rendition if he were alive today.

div class="video-container"iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/mJ_fkw5j-t0" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen/iframe/div

Tags: #MusicLog #ThePianoGuys

!--emailsub--

div id="post-signature"
div class="alert-info"
ba href="https://remark.as/p/journal.dinobansigan.com/music-log-029"Discuss.../a/b or leave me a comment below.
/div
/div]]>

Music Log - 009

<![CDATA[Wow what a busy week! I was asked to take over work that needed to be completed today. I had to stay late last Wednesday and Thursday to get a lot of stuff done. I finally completed it today. Code reviewed and checked-in, whew. Let's celebrate with another music log.

First up is a cover of the song "A Million Dreams" by The Piano Guys. I learned to play the piano when I was kid, but didn't continue my lessons. Listening to this cover makes me wish I never stopped going to my piano lessons. I seriously envy being able to play a piano like this. It's just beautiful.

iframe src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/4v6EUO6tC8RlZDvJ3DBV86" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allow="encrypted-media"/iframe

!--more--
Second song is another cover by The Piano Guys. This time it is a medley of "In My Blood" and "Swan Lake". This is just a beautiful rendition of both songs, I love it! If you check them out on Spotify, you'll find that they have a lot more good music, some that I'll most likely share in a future music log.

iframe src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/1kbZaYVjv21tlxdql5M3bb" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allow="encrypted-media"/iframe

It was totally coincidence that I ran into this third song in Spotify, in another punk goes pop playlist. Curiously the title is also "In My Blood", just like the one in the second track I shared above. It turns out the original is a song from Shawn Mendes. This is an outstanding cover of the original song! First time I heard it, I was like, Wow! Who are these guys?! Turns out Cemetery Drive is a rock band hailing from Italy. I feel like this cover adds raw emotions that the original song was lacking. That said this cover sounds so good, because the original song is already pretty good. By the end of the song, I was like, help me, I cannot stop listening to this song...

iframe src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/2z9X88TLBtSluS5yPZ3pJg" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allow="encrypted-media"/iframe

Tags: #MusicLog #ThePianoGuys #CemeteryDrive

div id="post-signature"
div class="alert-info"
ba href="https://remark.as/p/journal.dinobansigan.com/music-log-009"Discuss.../a/b or leave me a comment below.
/div
/div]]>
